Adding trusted website's into Windows
Once you are logged into the windows user needed to access these websites, open up internet explorer. Once loaded click the cog wheel(or gear) in the top right corner and select "Internet Options"(See the screen shot below)
Once this is down and the internet options window pops up, follow these guide lines
Once prompted please provide the admin username and password. Opened you will be brought to the sites screen where you can view/add trusted websites. Now input the desired URL/web address into the address field(See screen shot below).
Replacing [WEBSITE] with the desired web address.
Example: If you were going to add google to the trusted list you would put (Do not type the words italic)
Step 1 type: www.google.com into the "Add this website to the zone" URL box, then hit the [Add] button, then
Step 2 type: *google.com into the "Add this website to the zone" URL box, then hit the [Add] button
Or if you were to input HourDoc into the trusted sites you would input this
Step 1 type: www.myhourdoc.com into the "Add this website to the zone" URL box, then hit the [Add] button, then
Step 2 type: *myhourdoc.com into the "Add this website to the zone" URL box, then hit the [Add] button
The www stand's for the "World Wide Web" which is the standard for all home locations of websites. As time and websites became bigger they have expanded the use of anything before the first period. Perfect example would be google using maps.google.com or translate.google.com, due to the first portion not containing "www" the system would block the site so with the * added before the first period the system will allow different variations of the website.
Note: The system security will not be compromised in any way. Allowing different variations before the first period will not allow user's to access other websites.
